Introduction
The SPR-3 is a modern sniper rifle of Indonesian origin. It was developed to replace the older SPR-1 in production, which had a more classic bolt-action rifle design.
Design
The SPR-3 is a down scaled model of the SPR-2 anti-materiel rifle. Overall the weapon looks similar but is much smaller and lighter. It is a bolt-action design with skeleton stock with monopod, detachable magazine and free floating barrel with large multi-slotted muzzle brake.
Firepower
The SPR-3 fires the 7.62x51mm NATO round from a 5 round detachable box magazine. The maximum effective range is quoted as 900 meters.
Users
The SPR-3 is used by various Indonesian special forces and law enforcement units. It might be available for export.
SPR-3
SPR-3: The SPR-3 is a modern sniper rifle that is produced only in a single version. It can be identified from the larger SPR-2 by the much smaller magazine, shorter barrel and presence of a plastic forearm.
